Have an Amazing August!

Summer is still in full swing as many countries around the world continue to have sunny days filled with fun!

In the United States, August 3rd is National Watermelon Day - which happens to celebrate a great fruit to enjoy on hot days!

As watermelons are green on the outside, we thought this would be a great month to celebrate our favorite froggy friend, which is why our next pin release is Prince JeanBob himself in his iconic royal attire!

 NEW Limited Edition Pin

JeanBob insisted that a pin should be created especially for him and that he shouldn't have to constantly share the spotlight (even though we know he secretly likes the pins he shares with his friends!).

We couldn't disappoint our favorite frog, so we are pleased to announce the latest limited edition pin featuring the one and only JeanBob!

Dressed to impress in his regal outfit, first shown in the original movie and sporting a charming smile, we know fans will love the latest pin in The Swan Princess limited edition collection!

The pin is limited edition (only 50 copies worldwide) so save the date on your calendar!

JeanBob will be available to purchase on August 15th!

Happy Birthday Queen Uberta! Queen Uberta's birthday is in August which makes her zodiac sign a Leo and her birthstone the peridot.

Every Leo sees themselves as a celebrity starring in the movie that is their life. They are theatrical, dramatic, artistic, and creative.

They are natural leaders who's energy draws in people from all walks of life.

Leos can be divas, they like all attention on them. This can bring out their ego, their pride and jealousy doesn't like when they are put in the background or ignored.

Despite their flamboyant nature Leos are loyal and consistent and put their whole heart into their relationships.

Leos are ambitious and determined, but most of all they are known for their  bravery. Brave to stand up for their friendships, bravery to stand out from the crowd to be different, brave in their fashion choices, and brave in saying what they want out of life.

We think this sounds just like Queen Uberta!

The peridot is said to calm anger and is used to bring about a fresh start. When the peridot is set in gold, like in our heart locket, it is said to protect the wearer from bad dreams.

Is your birthday in August or do you just like the color green?

Scrumptious Sorbet

Those in the palace and in the village really enjoy slices of watermelon, especially when it is hot and sunny. This delicious fruit doesn't grow in the Kingdom but Prince Derek has some excellent trade partners that allow ships to deliver fruits and flavors from all over the world!

Ingredients:

• 2 cups cubed watermelon

• 1/2 lime juice squeezed

Method:

1. Dice the watermelon.

2. Place the watermelon in the freezer overnight.

3. Take the watermelon and place it into a food processor with a very small amount of the lime juice and start blending.

4. Keep stopping and adding a few drops of the lime juice each time you pause the processor.

5. Continue the process until you produce a sorbet like texture.

Frederick's Sweet Sorbet Twists:

Our Palace chef has some delicious twists to share with you to take this sorbet to the next level.

For a desert that is more like an ice cream, use coconut milk or cream as an alternative to the lime juice.

Do you have a sweet tooth? Add maple syrup or honey to your watermelon! Or add a sugar syrup by melting sugar in water in the pan instead of lime juice!

Watermelon Mocktails

This treat is great for those hot summer days, plus, it looks great at a party to add that extra twist to your refreshments or buffet table!

Ingredients:

• 1 large watermelon (or 2 small ones)

• 100g golden caster sugar

• 250ml lemon juice (bottled or fresh)

• 1 liter soda water

• 1 lime

• Crushed ice

• Handful of mint

Method:

1. Carefully cut the top off the watermelon.

2. Use a large spoon to scoop the watermelon out from the skin so it is hollow. Take out the pips as you go.

3. Mash the flesh (the pink insides of the watermelon) through a sieve - make sure to place a bowl under the sieve!

4. Put the mashed flesh into a blender (or you can use a hand mixer), along with the caster sugar and lemon juice.

5. Mix until you form a purée.

6. Add the soda and stir together.

7. Now take your hollow watermelon skin and add some scoops of ice.

8. Fill the rest of the watermelon bowl with your purée mixture.

9. Serve any remaining lemonade in glasses with lime slices and some mint.
