Swantastic Summer Fun Awaits!!!

Summer has officially arrived with the month of June and for many kingdoms, this means even more fun in the sun!

How will you enjoy this sunny season? Perhaps you will plan a delicious picnic with your family and friends, where you can be surrounded by the countryside!

Or maybe you will go on exciting adventures, just like Odette and her friends! Let your imagination soar and become a character in a brand new story as a Princess, Pirate or maybe even a swan!

Why not watch Alise decide between the path of Princess or Pirate in one of the sequels - The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today!

Buy or rent the movie online today or click here to purchase the DVD in our official store!

Father's Day also takes place this month, a time to celebrate the Fathers, Grandfathers and other paternal figures in our lives!

Odette lost her Father, King William, several years ago, but she still misses him and thinks about him everyday.

Although she is often sad that he is not with her family in person, Odette reminds herself of the wonderful memories that she has of her Father and knows that, even if she can't see him, he is always with her!

This special day can be very special and a brilliant time for many, however, it can have mixed emotions for others.

Alise loves hearing about her grandfather and seeing how happy it makes her mom when she talks about him. Derek was even younger than Odette when he lost his Father, King Maximillian.

Uberta remembers Derek and King Maximillian firing arrows in the palace grounds and enjoys reminiscing about such happy times with her son and his father.

Alise, Derek and Odette have a great day planned together! Alise and her Mother are making a special desert for Derek for Father's Day (you can find the recipe in the link below)! Derek and Alise are also going to challenge each other in a round of archery - with targets, not people (which was a relief to the musicians!).

Father's Day can be a day of happiness, sadness and filled with many different memories. We hope that you and your Fathers, Grandfathers and any other important paternal figures in your life have a fantastic day!

SWANderful Seashell Frame

Aren't seashells beautiful? There are so many different sizes and shapes, not to mention all of the SWANderful patterns!

This SWANtastic craft is a great way to add some character to a frame and display a photo of a favorite memory!

We know that Odette loves glitter or seeing things sparkle - it makes everything look extra magical!

You can also keep the shells as they are and give your frame a natural seashore look!

You will need:

• Shells

• Wooden Frame (you can use a plain one or one with a pattern depending on your design/ideas)

• Extra Fine Glitter - which color will you choose?

• Mod Podge

• Glue Gun

Instructions:

1. Firstly, apply a thin layer or Mod Podge onto one of your shells.

2. Sprinkle the SWANtastic glitter over the shell.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the remaining shells.

4. Now place the shells to one side to allow them to dry completely.

5. Use the glue gun to attach the SWANtastic, sparkly shells to your frame. You can arrange your shells before glueing them, either on a frame or on a piece of paper next to the frame, so that you can plan your design. You can also dive right in and glue the shells wherever the waves take you!

6. Add another thin layer of Mod Podge over the shells to seal the glitter (optional).

Cherry and Custard Cake

Alise and Odette are making this cherry cake for Father's Day for Prince Derek. JeanBob loves cherries and has a tendency to sneak into the kitchen and eat all of them - luckily Odette made sure they have an extra bowl hidden in the palace kitchen, just in case he gets any sneaky ideas!

The cherries and custard cream go deliciously well together and make this a cake that everyone with a sweet tooth is sure to enjoy!

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

• 170g self raising flour

• 220g golden caster sugar

• 220g unsalted butter, softened, (plus extra for greasing)

• 50g ground almonds

• 4 eggs

• 3 tbsp milk

• 1⁄4 tsp baking powder

For the Cherries:

• 250g cherries, pitted

• 2 tbsp golden caster sugar

• 1 tsp vanilla bean paste

• 1⁄2 large lemon, juiced

For the custard:

• 150g double cream

• 80g store bought custard

• 1 tbsp icing sugar (plus extra for dusting)

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 375F/190C/170C fan/gas 4.

2. Butter two 8in/20cm loose-bottomed round sandwich tins and then line them with baking parchment.

3. Beat together the butter and sugar (you can do this by hand or by using a mixer) until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter mix, beating well after each adding each egg.

5. Fold the flour, baking powder, ground almonds, milk and 1/4 tsp salt into the butter mixture.

6. Evenly distribute the mixture between the two sandwich tins that you prepared earlier.

7. Bake for approx. 25 mins or until risen and firm.

8. Remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes.

9. Turn the cakes out onto a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.

10. Take the cherries, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla and place all of them into a pan.

11. Place the pan over a low heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.

12. Cook the cherry mixture for 5 mins and then increase the heat to medium before cooking for a further 5 minutes until syrupy.

13. Remove the mixture from the heat and leave to one side to cool.

14. In another bowl, beat the cream and icing sugar together using an electric whisk until the cream thickens.

15. Fold the custard into the cream mixture.

16. Chill the custard cream mix for 1 hour.

17. When the cream has finished chilling, place one of the cakes onto your chosen plate/stand. Spread the custard cream over the sponge.

18. Spoon the cherry mixture on top of the cream.

19. Carefully place the second sponge on top.

20. Dust the cake with icing sugar and serve!

This month we are celebrating the birthday of the delightfully quirky and two faced villain Fang! This makes her zodiac sign Gemini and her birthstone a light amethyst.

The Gemini sign is also known as "the twins"; Geminis are famous for having many different sides to their personality that are often very different from each other. This makes them social chameleons able to make friends in all kinds of social groups.

We see Fang's dual sided personality in the way she talks to herself about every decision. She may be a little crazy, but at the end of the day, who better than yourself to give you the best advice? She also maintains an advisor role with the king while masterminding her evil plans behind his back.

The flexible Gemini is very smart and clever, but because they have so many interests they are easily distracted. Their cleverness can sometimes cause them to be ruthless in their decisions as they can easily analyze and justify difficult, and sometimes unethical choices.

Not only are they curious but they love to talk about anything and everything they have learned. They love to gossip to everyone about everything. Or, in Fang's case, gossip to herself about everyone else around her.

Gemini people tend to be very indecisive and very impulsive. They jump into everything 100%. We see this in Fang's obsessive unrequited love of Chen.

We think all of this sounds just like Fang!

The light amethyst stone symbolizes purity of spirit and is believed to help heal wounds. We hope Fang finds healing and a better path in life. The forgiveness offered by Mei Lee and Chen surely pointed her in the right direction.

Is your birthday in June or do you just like the color lavender?
