Jump into June with JeanBob!

Odette and her friends are embracing the SWANtastic summer and SWANderful sunshine!

June is a very special month for some people as Father's Day takes place on June 21st - a day to celebrate the Dads, Grandfathers and other Father figures in your life.

Odette is helping Alise to make a delicious pavlova for Derek and her Grandfather, King Maximillian, this Father's Day with a favorite fruit of the family - strawberries!

Odette misses her Father, King William, everyday. She can sometimes feel sad when she thinks about him, but knows he is always with her, even if she can't see him - the thought of him being there gives her comfort and strength. It makes her smile when she remembers what makes him special and all the memories she shared with him.

Whether you are celebrating with the Father figures in your life or remembering loved ones this month, we hope that it is a special day for you and your family.

Strawberry Pavlova
This delicious dessert is SWANtastically simple to make and perfect for the SWANderful sunny summer days - especially if one of your favorite fruits happens to be strawberries!
Odette and Alise love strawberries - so does Derek, which makes this a fantastic Father's Day dessert for them to make - you can make this for Father's Day too or just to enjoy on a lovely sunny day!
Ingredients:
For the Meringue:
• 225g caster sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 2 tsp white wine vinegar
• 2 tsp cornflour
For the Top:
• 350g strawberries (you can half/chop these as needed)
• 300 ml double cream or whipping cream
Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 320°F/160°C/Fan 140°C/Gas 3.
2. Cut a piece of non-stick baking parchment that is just slightly bigger than your baking tray.
3. Draw a 23cm/9 inch circle on the piece of parchment and place it on the baking tray (remember not to cut the circle out).
4. Separate your egg whites and then whisk the egg whites together in a large bowl until the mixture becomes cloud-like and you can form small peaks when you remove a whisk.
5. Now take your sugar and add it to your egg whites 1 teaspoon at a time, making sure to whisk well in between each teaspoon, until you have used all the sugar - the mixture should become thick and have a glossy look.
6. In a small bowl, mix together the cornflour and vinegar until combined.
7. Add the cornflour mix to your meringue and whisk well.
8. Transfer the meringue to the baking tray and gently spread it within the circle that you drew earlier. Create a dip in the center of the meringue and build up the sides of the meringue to make a border around the edge.
9. Transfer your meringue to the oven and as soon as you have, reduce the temperature to 300°F/150°C/Gas 2.
10. Allow the meringue to bake for approx. 1 hour - until it is firm to the touch and has a slight beige color.
11. Turn the oven off and leave the meringue in the oven until the meringue becomes cold (approx. 1-2 hours)
12. After the meringue has cooled, remove it from the oven.
13. Remove the meringue from the baking sheet and transfer it to your chosen serving plate.
14. Top the meringue with the whipped cream and strawberries.
15. Now place the meringue in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving your delicious dessert!

Fun Flowers (Or Rainbows)
Odette loves to see flowers planted around the Kingdom and to add color around her and this craft is a great activity full of color and magic!
These fun flowers are a great way to enjoy the sun during a SWANtastic summer or at any point in the year when you want to add even more color! Craft these flowers and see how you can create some magic of your own this summer!
You Will Need:
● Cellophane Sheets (different colors)
● Glue
● Popsicle sticks
● Green Paint
● Scissors
● Cardboard tube (e.g. an empty kitchen towel tube)
Method:
1. Firstly, let's make our pretty petals. Take your tube and squash it flat for a few seconds. When you release the pressure, the end will now be more of an oval shape rather than a circle.
2. Now cut your tube into 1cm pieces so that you have several "petals".
3. Take one of your petals and reshape it into a circle - this will be the center of your flower.
4. Now glue each of the petals (and your center piece) onto the colored sheets - you can make all your petals the same color or have a flower with several different colored petals. Make one or two of your petals green - we'll use these as the leaves.
5. Paint your Popsicle sticks green whilst your petals dry and set them to one side. Alternatively, you can buy Popsicle sticks that are already green.
6. When the glue has dried on your petals, carefully cut out your petals, leaves and flower center.
6. Take your center circle and glue the petals around it to make a flower. Set to one side.
7. After your green popsicle sticks have dried, glue them together to increase the length so that you have a stem.
8. Glue the stem in between two of the petals.
9. Finally, glue the leaves to your stem and leave your flower to one side to dry.
Now for the flower fun - take your flower outside in the sun and watch as you see not an ordinary shadow, but a brightly colored one magically appear!
SWANtastic Tip - If it isn’t a sunny day or you want to enjoy your flower indoors, use a torch to create a shadow instead!

Gemini people tend to be very indecisive and very impulsive. They jump into everything 100%. We see this in Fang's obsessive unrequited love of Chen.
We think all of this sounds just like Fang!
The light amethyst stone symbolizes purity of spirit and is believed to help heal wounds. We hope Fang finds healing and a better path in life. The forgiveness offered by Mei Lee and Chen surely pointed her in the right direction.
Is your birthday in June or do you just like the color lavender?
