Turkey Waddle Race

Dress warm and challenge the whole family to this fun game!  All you need are some balloons or soccer balls and you are ready to go!

Place the balloon/ball between your knees and on the count of three, race your family to the finish line as you waddle like a turkey!  If you're using a balloon and it bursts, you now have to hop on one leg and try and stop the others from reaching the finish line!

Why not make the race extra challenging and add different obstacles to your race or use blindfolds?

Fun Turkey Making Projects

Oreo Turkeys

You will need:

Oreo cookies

Candy corn

Chocolate malted milk balls

Reese's miniature peanut butter cups

Candy eyes

Icing (red and yellow) - pre-made icing works great or you can make your own (recipe below)

Turkeys can be constructed in many different ways using icing to paste the pieces together and give the turkeys facial features.

Some ideas are pictured below:

Icing Ingredients:

  • 2 egg whites

  • 1 C powder sugar

  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

  • food coloring

 Icing Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl mixing on medium speed for 4 minutes. (except your food coloring)

  2. If icing is not stiff enough add 1/4 C powder sugar.

  3. Divide the icing into separate small bowls for different colors.

  4. Add several drops of the desired food coloring to each bowl.  Stir to mix.

  5. Frosting bags with tips are the best way to control the size and shape of the icing applied.

Handprint Turkeys

This is a fun activity for all the family and leaves everyone with a print of each family member to be treasured in years to come!

You will need:

Your Hands!

Paint

Brushes

Paper

1. Paint the palm of your hand and thumb in brown paint, this will be your turkey's body. The top of your thumb print will be the turkey's face.

2. Paint the remaining fingers in different colors to make the feathers.

3. Carefully place your hand on a piece of paper and hold it down for a couple of seconds before removing it to reveal your handprint Thanksgiving turkey!

4. Draw in any details to give your turkey some personality.

 Jello Salad Recipe

Quick and easy Thanksgiving side dish/dessert

Ingredients:

3 oz box Jello (any flavor, my favorite is lime)

8 oz Cool Whip

16 oz cottage cheese

8 oz can crushed pineapple - drained

Half bag small marshmallows

1/2 cup chopped pecans

Pour box of jello powder into 8 oz of Cool Whip and mix. Mix all other ingredients into jello/cool whip mixture.

Additional fruit can be added depending on the Jello flavor chosen (for example, mandarin oranges are great with orange flavored jello and maraschino cherries are good with cherry flavored jello)

Thanksgiving isn’t just about football and food (although Jean-Bob will still be first to dive into the turkey this year!), it’s about being thankful for everything that money can’t buy and what really matters.  Let’s see what Princess Odette and her friends are thankful for this year…

Prince Derek & Princess Odette

Our favourite couple are thankful for everlasting love, not just because it saved Odette, but because it gives them the strength to overcome anything!

Jean-Bob

Thankful for his alleged royal blood, this faithful frog knows deep down how much his friends care for him…and how delicious the food will be this Thanksgiving…

Speed

This Thanksgiving, Speed will be happy to relax and enjoy time with his friends.  Adventures are fun, but we all need slow days every now and again.

Puffin

A bird where nothing should be short of perfection!  Puffin is thankful for the opportunities he has, including protecting the Kingdom alongside Prince Derek!

Queen Uberta

Uberta is thankful for her whole family, especially her granddaughter, Alise, who she is sure to spoil this Thanksgiving!

Lord Rogers

Always inventing and full of ideas, Rogers is thankful for allowing his new creations to be used all over the castle!

Princess Alise

Our curious little princess is thankful for the love her friends and family show her every day and the ongoing support they give!

Lucas

Thankful for every adventure that is thrown at him, Lucas is also thankful for Alise, Odette, Derek and all of their friends, for bringing him home to his parents and welcoming him into their own family.
