We were excited to check in with Joe Campana, the Editor that has worked on every single Swan Princess film. He gave us a little progress report on, Swan Princess 11, our film that is currently in production.

He says that the coloring process has begun. "We have completed about 30 scenes in color. There are about 1400 scenes. So most of the movie footage is still in greys with no color. Coloring requires layers of layers of work. It is as much labor, if not more, than everything that is done before color."

"First a color texture maps is placed on the characters. Then lighting is added. There are lighting guides written for each setting and character so that the lighting stays consistent"

We are grateful such a talented and dedicated team is working on this swanderful addition to the Swan Princess story!

Princess Odette has been keeping busy with the amazing kids at the Mascot Miracles Foundation! This month they had their Cowabunga Bay water park event where they invited all of the Foundation's families to swim with the mascots and Mermaid Princess Odette!

Later in the month, Princess Odette went back to the ballet origins of her fairytale, Swan Lake. A ballet class was held for a group of children with life threatening illnesses. Everyone had fun dancing and learning from a real ballerina!

Tales of the Traveling Suit

Swan Princess Producer, Seldon Young is known far and wide for his Swan Princess argyle fashion. As he says "its wonderful to be proud enough of your work to wear it on your sleeve." He loves that the outfit choice has allowed him to have many fun experiences around the world with amazing Swan Princess fans! 

Seldon loves to interact with Swan Princess fans. One of the best ways to do this is at conventions. Seldon has participated in conventions in London, Seattle, Orlando, Los Angeles, and various other cities. 

Seldon always has fun posing with all of the characters from his films!

The best conventions are when fellow Producer and business partner, Jared F Brown, is able to join Seldon in his pink argyle shorts!

 

Happy Birthday Queen Uberta! Queen Uberta's birthday is in August which makes her zodiac sign a Leo and her birthstone the peridot.

Every Leo sees themselves as a celebrity starring in the movie that is their life. They are theatrical, dramatic, artistic, and creative. 

They are natural leaders who's energy draws in people from all walks of life. 

Leos can be divas, they like all attention on them. This can bring out their ego, their pride and jealousy doesn't like when they are put in the background or ignored.

Despite their flamboyant nature Leos are loyal and consistent and put their whole heart into their relationships.

Leos are ambitious and determined, but most of all they are known for their  bravery. Brave to stand up for their friendships, bravery to stand out from the crowd to be different, brave in their fashion choices, and brave in saying what they want out of life. 

We think this sounds just like Queen Uberta!

 The peridot is said to calm anger and is used to bring about a fresh start. When the peridot is set in gold, like in our heart locket, it is said to protect the wearer from bad dreams.

Answer:

  About 5 years passed for the characters of Swan Lake between the two films.

Dear Diary,

The Midsummer Festival finally arrived! I have so been looking forward to it. The Festival usually includes an obstacle course, games, food, and, of course, the talent show. This year, Uberta convinced me to enter the talent show in disguise to see if I could win the hearts of the judges without having any bias towards me. I pondered a lot on a talent to showcase. I thought my singing voice would give me away instantly so I needed to think of something else. Derek suggested a talent that I never realized I had. Playing cards! When I was young, I was an absolute wizard with a deck of cards. In Derek's opinion, this made playing card games with me unbearable. I began to practice card tricks. I asked a street performer in the village for some advice on sleight of hand. After practicing in secret for a while, I felt confident enough to enter the contest as the Swanderful Magician! Everyone seemed to have fun while I was on stage, performing in my disguise. The only person in the crowd who knew it was me was Derek. He did a great job pretending and even denied it was me when Uberta was suspicious. Even though I won third place and it was such a wonderful time! I’ll keep practicing for next year!
