Happy Easter!

The flowers are blooming and the days are warmer as Princess Odette prepares the Easter celebrations!

There is a Kingdom wide Easter hunt planned where people are invited to search for all sorts of treats; from chocolate eggs to candy pieces to toy bunnies and chicks!

Puffin has used his military expertise to make maps that lead to different locations.

Lucas and Alise have also helped by using their spy skills to create clues at each checkpoint that reveal the exact hiding places of each egg!

Egg-Cellent Easter Cake

This cake is one of Princess Odette's favorite recipes, not just to eat but also to bake! Odette even gave it such a name because making it is such egg-cellent fun!

Ingredients

• 1 cup (200g) Butter

• 1 cup (200g) Light Brown Sugar

• 4 Large Eggs

• 1 tsp Instant Coffee Granules
• 1 tbsp Boiling water
• 1 1/2 cups (175g) Self raising flour
• 1/2 cup (25g) Cocoa powder
• 1/8 tsp Baking Powder

Remember to select some delicious decorations for your cake too! Will you make a pretty pink design or go for a chocolate covered option?

Method:

1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 F (160C Fan/180C/Gas Mark 4).
2. Grease and line a loaf tin.
3. Dissolve the coffee into the boiling water and set aside until it needs to be added later on.
4. Mix the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
5. Add the coffee and eggs and mix until smooth.
6. Stir in the the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder until combined.
7. Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for an hour and 10 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Allow to cool completely before removing the cake from the tin and then carefully remove the baking paper.
9. Decorate!
